You, my dear, are my 100th follower!
And so,
you need to message me an address for me to send something to. Nothing creepy! Most likely a page from a coloring book or perhaps a beautifully written note with perfume sprayed on it and a kiss mark on the envelope I MEAN
wait what? Totally wasn’t expecting that - I just followed when I saw the artofmtg post saying to follow because you’re cool. xD
BUT UM YEAH GUYS. MTG PLAYERS. GENERAL NERD PUBLIC. FOLLOW NOW GO GO GO GO ^^^^
Today at work, I misread a kid’s last name as Beleren.
I BLAME YOU, MAKI.
LOLWUT
I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW YOU PAID ATTENTION TO ME/JACE LOLOLOLOLOL

Coolio~ and hey, if we get any new Planeswalkers in RTR (it’s a large set, I’m pretty sure there’s gotta be SOMEONE other than Jace in this expansion) maybe I can start doing an askblog too.((It’s not like there’s nothing from stopping you now. We’ve had an ornithopter ask blog, and nobody has even looked funnily at 90% of the old school walkers. (Urza, Bolas, Karn, Serra and Guff all have/had accounts. And a few legends I don’t desire to list. Unless a new walker/legend/creature jumps out at you and screams “ZOMG ASKBLOG MEEEEE!”))
Very true! I do suppose we could use some AskGuildmasters this year… >.>
Suddenly I’m tempted to be a very, VERY fabulous and narcissistic Niv-Mizzet.
((Aww yiss.))
I just checked - as far as Google knows, there are no Ask Niv blogs! FUCKING DIBS OKAY YOU GUYS. I’ll get to it when I’m done with a few other things~

An Old Conversation
Disbelief; “You call yourself human?” he murmured, wrinkled brow creasing fitfully – he’d never seen anything quite the same – but harrumphed and began fiddling with his handheld… whatever it was, with its bright (blinking) lights and whimsical chirping like he’d stuffed a damn bird in there. “Yes, the scans show nothing abnormal. However-” he hobbled closer on his cane, staring intently at the device as if willing the data to change.
“You want to run the tests again?” The old scientist mumbled something unkind at the interruption, absently rubbing at his cane with a thumb. “Yes, well. Inaccuracies in data are fairly commonplace-” again. “Fifteen consecutive times? Do not spew your drivel at me, Mordecai. I will not be so lenient as my predecessors.”
He could swear the man’s gaze was hard enough to crack a diamond, absurd as the notion was – is. Best to stop beating around the bush anyway, the normal fields would probably falter and this wasn’t worth a ring. Inquisitor really was quite dangerous in the right hands; no one had known how dangerous until it served Justice.
A-hem. “As you wish; youth these days, so impetuous.” Setting the scanner down on a countertop, he brushed off his withered hands and turned around to continue. “In truth, what perturbs me is your frightening ability in battle – it is strictly impossible for the human body to perform on such levels with any amount of regularity. Your continuing to do so regardless is a most fascinating phenomenon, ah-” quick glance to the side “I didn’t catch your name.”
“And you never will, sir.”
(so this is an old bit of writing from many years ago, concerning the above character interacting with one of those old scientist types. Posted on urging from makimonstrous)
Using as close to the same angles as possible for each picture:
Top: What my dorm looked like at the beginning of my freshman year. Grades at end of first semester: Horrible. C’s-F’s everywhere. One A - History.
Bottom: What my dorm looks like as of this morning. Grades approaching the end of the second semester: A’s-B’s everywhere. One D or F - Italian.
I wonder if there’s a correlation.
And yes, I did get to keep the Helvault from AVR Prerelease. c: I did relatively well at Midnight, getting to Top 8 undefeated with G/W/U Soulbound (but got my ass kicked in the first round of playoffs by an even better Soulbound deck), won two boosters from which I pulled Avacyn, the only mythic I pulled in either of the two Prereleases I went to. Regular Saturday/Helvault PR, I lost both of my first matches using G/W/R Soulbound and dropped out after that because I really really wanted to start working on testing out a Block Constructed soulbound deck. I will release a decklist hopefully when I have finetuned it.

Okay, that makes it easier to rape you c:<

1. I’m 5’2”. 5’3”? Somewhere around there.
2. I don’t have the proper measuring tools for Fact 1 right now. I could put together a whole bunch of my rulers but that might not really work…
3. Born and raised Catholic. For the most part, however, my sociopolitical opinions do not often align with the Church (much less any other faith group). One could say I definitely believe in God but don’t necessarily believe in everything organized religion has to say about God’s opinions, how the universe came to be, nor what exactly is right and wrong.
4. First person in my family to be born in the United States.
5. Moved houses/apartments/cities/living situations/etc. 7 times in my life.
6. Middle child.
7. I actively collect cards, tea, and signed art prints.
8. But I passively accumulate ponies???
9. I own at least one of every unique card art of Jace. This includes planeswalker cards, alt-art promos, and other spells.
10. I also own an actual “Jacequin”, custom commissioned from Kaxen. He’s fluffy and adorable.
11. I can play the ocarina. Not -well-, and I have this annoying-sounding soprano C one, but I can play.
12. I used to play violin in elementary school - but stopped when I moved away/couldn’t afford the rent on it. I was at the top of the class. To this day it is still my favorite instrument (the others I’ve played or at least have experience with are acoustic guitar, trumpet, and ofc. ocarina) and if I could afford it, I would pick it up again.
13. I don’t like any of the new dance games that have been coming out over the past several years, at all - and I love rhythm games. That said, it’s probably because I’m so used to playing DDR and not having to use my arms aside from using them to lean on the back bar.
14. I like to put Apple stickers all over all of my electronics/appliances that aren’t Apple, just to be ironic. Currently, my PC desktop, my microwave, and my Intuos4 tablet all have Apple stickers on them.
15. I like both Mac and PC, and I’ve grown up using/owning both (actual computers, not just products like ipods). Both have their advantages and disadvantages - though this fluctuates. For example, I really fucking hate Microsoft right now because I’m actually in the process of transferring all of my data on my Win7 PC to a Win8 laptop. Fuck Windows 8, it only makes sense on a tablet PC/touchscreen, and they basically just tried to copy all the bad things from the Mac OS.
16. As far as conventions/tournaments/major gatherings go, I have been to SDCC (I want to say ‘05 but not sure), AX ‘06, AX ‘07, AX ‘11, AX ‘12, GenCon SoCal ‘06, SoCal Smackdown ‘12, GP San Diego ‘11, GP San Diego ‘13, and GP Anaheim ‘12.
17. I have cosplayed, in general chronological order: Yoh Asakura (Shaman King), Squall Leonhart (Kingdom Hearts outfit), Tifa Lockhart (FFVII: AC outfit), Toki Wartooth (Metalocalypse), Akito/Agito/Lind Wanijima (Air Gear), Quorra (TRON: Legacy), and Jace Beleren (MtG).
18. I went to senior prom in my Quorra cosplay, with a floor-length skirt extension. You could say it… lit up the party.
19. As far as MtG artists go, I own signed prints/artbooks from Daarken, Michael C. Hayes, Lucas Graciano, Martina Pilcerova, Terese Nielsen, and Steve Argyle.
20. I’m fully Filipino. I think. I might have some Chinese on the grandad’s side.
21. Although I read more in terms of articles, texts, and news in college than I did in high school, I read a lot more novels and fun things before I graduated.
22. Among the things I read in high school, my top five favorite books, in no particular order, are East of Eden by John Steinbeck, The Rebel by Albert Camus, Blindness by Jose Saramago, Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, and How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster.
32. When I find a new band or song I like, my usual thing is to NOT STOP LISTENING TO THAT SAME THING UNTIL I’M TIRED OF IT, after which point I’ll listen to them on and off in balance with the rest of my library. That said, Owl City now holds the record for consistently holding my attention the longest at five months.
33. I have a sort of on-and-off addiction to napping/sleeping.
34. To be fair about #33, I’ve somewhat perfected the art of self-inducing lucid dreams over the years, and when I don’t fuck up and send myself spiraling into stratified layers of unified consciousness with the universe and its many potential realities that I have to dig myself out of to wake up, it’s rather addicting knowing that I can dream about basically whatever I want.
35. I’ve never been in an actual relationship before. I’ve gotten flirtatious with a few friends, but that’s as far as it’s ever gone - I’ve never dated, never kissed, never anything, and I’m 20. To an extent, it’s by choice and high expectations - I take this sort of thing quite seriously and while I’m not afraid to admit when someone is good-looking/sexy, if I’m ever genuinely interested in someone romantically or even sexually, it usually involves/means that I already trust them with my heart and mind, if not my life, and I would actually consider spending the rest of it with them. This implies years of friendship and trust, ability to balance priorities with fun, straightforward (if not blunt or even cruel) honesty, cleverness, and a genuinely competitive passion for a life goal/career, along with other things. Anyone who expects me to lower that bar or who thinks I’m expecting perfection out of them isn’t worth the kinds of sacrifices I would be willing to give for someone who is worth it.
36. For the most part and for a number of reasons, I enjoy the company of guys and at least semi-masculine girls over other girls.
37. I’m androgynous/socially masculine but identify socially as female and am physically female. Yes, that means I’m cisgender, despite my social performance. Repeat after me: BEING CISGENDERED IS NOT A BAD THING. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, TUMBLR, BEFORE YOU GO SENDING “DIE CIS SCUM” HATE ANONS TO PEOPLE.
38. In all my years of trying to/being forced to find a profitable career that isn’t entertainment industry art, I’ve found interest in becoming/researched many hobbies and careers. Just a few of them include: forensic scientist, detective, police chief, ornithologist, falconer, animal rescuer/vet (specializing with birds), archaeologist (specializing in ancient Middle Eastern cultures), entertainment industry economist, game programmer, IT specialist, fashion designer, interface designer, product/industry designer, architect, civil engineer… That’s just the beginning of the list.
39. I have an awful tendency to come up with a lot of ideas for drawings/paintings/stories but never actually get most of them off the ground because I’m distracted with some other idea, or because there’s just so many that I lock up, unable to decide which to do first for hours until I go to bed.
40. I missed out on quite a few big animated movies as a kid because my family used to (and sometimes still do) make fun of me for liking and watching children’s movies/Disney/Ghibli/etc. (despite the fact that, yes, I was a child - they were already doing this before I was eight years old) I’m still in the process of catching up on all those things I missed out on.
41. I have been roleplaying on online forums since I was eight - which means I’ve been RPing for about twelve years now.
42. The first websites I frequented at that age were Neopets and Fanfiction.net. Both I stopped using after I joined Gaia at twelve. I’m still on Gaia on-and-off but only to check up on how some old RPs I was in are doing.
43. Did I tell you guys how much I miss large-scale, huge-group, epic-proportions RPs? Because I really do. The emotional investment really pays itself off, given available free time.
44. My haircuts have gotten shorter and shorter over the years. My parents were always hesitant of me getting shorter cuts, but eventually we all realized that I actually look a million times better with short hair than I do with long hair so by college/Jacecut they let me roll with it.
45. Before I got into drinking tea last year/was introduced to Adagio and Teavana teas, I absolutely hated tea and was really hesitant to try whenever my friends tried to get me into it - probably because of my mom. Her idea of tea is… boiling leaves in water.
46. Before that and during high school, I was a massive coffee drinker - now I can’t stand it. It makes me jitter uncontrollably and I get really weird palpitations.
47. I’m a side-sleeper, and it’s really hard for me to sleep without burying my face into a pillow or something that I can wrap my whole body around.
48. I can’t drive, I don’t like driving and I have no interest in cars whatsoever aside from understanding the science of how they work. I would much rather move to New York or any part of Europe where (relative to LA) there’s a lot of public transportation and pedestrian-only areas.
49. I’m second-generation Filipino-American, but I can’t speak Tagalog. Funnily enough, I CAN speak German - though my fluency/speed of response has been slipping since I left high school.
50. I actually kind of like the taste of balut and chocolate meat (cooked blood)???
51. I have a really shitty sense of smell, so a lot of my favorite foods are things with really strong scents/flavors like garlic, cinnamon, chai teas, lemon and pepper, fish, etc. Especially garlic and fish, so you’ll have to forgive me if my breath stinks or I stink. It’s not because I’m unhygienic.
52. I usually have a lot of trouble being comfortable playing canon characters - I’m always afraid that even if I try to play them accurately while being interpretive, I’ll definitely fail. Hence, Niv-Mizzet is fabulous, speaks in third person, and idgaf.
53. While I was writing these up I was supposed to be formatting hard drives and working on a Spring Break Commission Info Post.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/3f20036bd69b2be0d318aa61e663ecb4/tumblr_mki96pZSju1r8qc93o1_1280.jpg)
